most people, it begins with taking a course in a psychic subject
like dowsing, healing or card reading.
The next step is practice. Lots of it. Practice on friends and family until you are confident enough to charge for your services. This is where you find out if you are cut out to be a professional intuitive. If you love what you do, you will practice and study to become good at it. Joining a club or professional organization dedicated to your psychic skill is a good idea. It will give you contacts and you can share experiences with others. Although I am certified in many disciplines, I have found most clients don't care. Certification seems to be more important to psychics with shaky self-esteem than to their customers. But if it helps give you posture, it may be worth it. You will want to learn to market yourself and your skills. This is harder than it sounds for most psychics. You may feel uncomfortable selling yourself or anything else, but unless you can sell yourself, you won't be successful. Do market research on your target market. Who are your prospective clients? What are their needs? What is their income level? I suggest you target a market that can afford to pay you a good price, so you can afford to do this full time. You can also start your own small business that will offer services to the public. There are many advantages to doing this, but it involves work. We started our own business years ago, and we discovered that although we are very good at what we do, we didn't know anything about marketing, advertising, finance and lots of other subjects that are important to a successful business. We learned fast! The part where I see people fail is in the transition from amateur to professional. Often people have blocks about:
If you treat it like a hobby, it will stay a hobby. Treat your business like a business if you want it to thrive and support you. Create a corporation or LLC. Get a tax i.d. number. Get certified. Be licensed, if appropriate. Pay your taxes. If you do your psychic job on the sly, only taking cash, not reporting income, charging too little and trying to hide out, you will remain in the shadows. Why? That is the energy you are putting out. Psychic jobs give you satisfaction, help lots of people and can support your lifestyle. What more could you ask for? Pros & Cons of Being a Professional PsychicWhat's so good about psychic jobs?
What is the down side of a career as a psychic reader?
Some people think that psychic abilities are a spiritual gift, so you shouldn't accept money for using them. As if God doesn't want spiritual people to be compensated for their work. You will have to learn to be compassionate towards those attitudes. Envy of financial success is behind a lot of the attacks one sees in the media on psychic professionals. I believe the pros WAY outweigh the cons. Return to Home Page from Psychic Jobs |
